In the south of France to document the original filming locations of Jean-Luc Godards PIERROT LE FOU starring Jean-Paul Belmondo & Anna Karina
Location: Île de Porquerolles
The other day in Berlin, I was very happy that "Pierrot le Fou"was shown in the cinema. I have seen the movie I don't know how many times, but only once on the big screen. I thought this was a nice ending to the project, even if the visit to the cinema was not a pure pleasure, mainly because of the audience...I didn't know what was worst, eating popcorn in huge buckets, the clinking of glasses, talking or laughing in places where there was nothing to laugh about. ...
nevertheless it was great!
I thought how much I would like to continue the project, after all scenes are still missing in Toulon and I would love to go back to Porquerolles, where Godard returned for the final scene of the film. I have been looking for the rocks quite a while and I really wish I had more time to document everything a little bit more carefully. Porquerolles is in any case one of the most beautiful places I have ever been and the recitation of Rimbaud's poem at the end underlines both - the magic of the island and the eternal magic of the film.
